Bizad won, again!!!

HOORAY, Bizad wins again on NUS Rag & Flag 2009!!!
Congrats to Bizad Rag Comm, aka TEAM BRAG.

I was a ragger for last year Rag.

Helping out in rag last week reminded me a lot of wonderful memories I have for last summer.
This year, going back as a senior, I feel honoured that I am considered as an asset and not a liability for the rag comm.

I am glad that I am be able to contribute to the float and spent some quality time with my junior.

This year, bizad has the float which is somehow different from the traditional float that we had.
We are lucky to have some engineers who worked on the mechanical stuff so that this year bizad finally utilizes some techonology on the float.

As compare to traditional paper mache technique that seniors pass down generation by generation, this year team brag imitate some hall mache technique.
We tried to use spoons, egg trays, wheel rib, CDs etc to mache.

Appulse to the intricacy comm.

Float this year is themed as a flying ship inspired by final fantasy.
This is also something different that we tried for the past few years.
We always build the float before we mount our float to lorry and lastly we will build a huge box to cover the lorry head.

But instead of doing this, rag comm this year decided to mount part of the float on lorry and the other half of the ship body will cover the lorry head.
So, the lorry is now being convert in to one big flying ship and the lorry head is wisely hide in the ship.

I love their design this year, it looks simply amazing and impressive!

For the result part, as usual, bizad won a few shields from Flag event.
We thought we will win Best Float design but the prize goes to University Scholar Club (USC).

Before the event started, I walked around and see how other faculties design their floats.
Bizad is one of the potential winnera for the best float design.
Not I am bias, but USC really doesn't deserve the prize.

To be honest, I don't think their float is nice and I don't agree with the judges.
We couldn't win any prize for Rag event, neither Science Fac.

Science Fac, for some reasons that I don't know, is the rivalry faculty for bizad.
We really create intense relationship among these 2 fac during rag period.

We don't care who win the prize if we don't win, but the prize just can't go to science.

Haha

As what we always done, bizad won the overall champion again.

This year, NUSSU have to give us a new shield because after five years consecutive winning of the shield, bizad has kept one in its faculty, forever.
